Interview of Mind-Mercatis CEO Simone Avogadro published by Newsimpresa-Dossier-IBE magazine

From factory 4.0 to the cloud: data governance and exploitation! Mind-Mercatis is a leading company in organizational process integration and business transformation. Business scenarios evolve rapidly, and to keep up, it is not enough to coin new slogans but to evolve corporate culture, vision, and skills. Evolving organizational and technological skills are the basis for change.Integration and vision sharing are at least as crucial as public policies to support innovation. Factory 4.0 is the child of an evolution that sees massive information as the central pivot of organizational change. But where information is produced and manipulated there arises the need to share, aggregate and circulate news in order to avoid information theft as well. There is a desire to enhance the value of the information collected and to govern the flows.

The advent of IoT and its protocols leads to a need for convergence with two main players in the field:

  • Manufacturers of factory systems: who have the know-how the governance of the systems already in place
  • IT integration system manufacturers: who possess the know-how of architectures and systems for collecting and governing data flows.

Making this even more challenging is the now-established presence of Cloud systems-a world to be integrated that possesses endless opportunities. It is precisely from the Cloud that the integration systems arrive today iPaaS tools that address the need for rapid change and integration. This is becoming the glue to make the migration to Factory 4.0 faster and more efficient. Information is considered a valuable asset produced by Industry 4.0, and therefore it is appropriate to become aware of the existence of tools for the management and control of information flows, so that the most suitable tool for its treatment can be identified.

There is a need forintegration tools capable of centrally managing multiple factories and plants, providing a single view of data collection and exchange processes within companies. Mind-Mercatis' strategic vision is that the governance of information systems passes through the governance of integration between systems. This is why Mind-Mercatis has always invested in integration technologies and provides its clients with support both in process assessment and in the design and implementation of their own integration technology. We make our Know How available to our clients to govern change through processes and information flows in a way that supports our clients.
